How to immigrate through Express Entry

The PEI Government selects applicants for Work Permits from the EOI pool each month, and the majority are chosen in the month in which they apply. Entrepreneur applicants with scores of 65 or above were invited to apply in the June 16, 2022 draw. Due to its low score, PEIPNP is a very attractive and practical choice for many clients. The PEIPNP is now one of Canada’s quickest Work Permit programmes, allowing an applicant family to immigrate to PEI on a Work Permit, operate a local company there for a year, and then be nominated and apply for permanent residency. This program’s advantages include:  

• Because interviews and meetings are now conducted virtually, no TRV or exploratory visit is necessary.
• Prior to the government interview, Confederation organises the applicant’s virtual sessions with an accountant, attorney, and banker.
• Interviews typically take place between 4 to 6 months (after the full file has been submitted), and a letter of support is issued about 1 month later. The family then applies for Work and Study visas so they can visit Prince Edward Island.

Once in PEI, the family has the choice to switch to the PEIPNP Labour Impact Category through the Entrepreneur Category – Work Permit Stream. For instance, the spouse could decide to apply under the PEIPNP Labour Impact Category if they use their Open Work Permit to find a desirable job or other employment on Prince Edward Island. 

The family may be nominated more quickly, be able to apply for PR more quickly, and possibly have their wait for PR cut by a few years thanks to this Labour filing.
