What are your options?

1. Skilled Migrant Category

Consider the points-tested migration program if you meet one of the following criteria: 

  • Your occupation is listed under the eligible New Zealand occupational registrations
  • You hold a degree or higher qualification
  • You have a job offer or employment in New Zealand with a wage of at least 1.5 times the median wage (currently NZD $47.41 per hour)

To be eligible for this visa, you must:

  • Accumulate at least 6 points
  • Be under the age of 55

Visa Processing Time

    • Average 5 to 13 months

2. Straight to Resident Visa

You can secure a Resident Visa in just 3 months if your occupation is listed on Tier 1 of the Green List

Acceptable Employment Criteria:

  • You work for or have a job offer from, an accredited employer
  • You meet the role’s specific requirements, such as the median wage or salary threshold, registration, or professional membership
  • Your employment is full-time and genuine
  • The role is permanent, fixed-term for at least 12 months, or a contract (or contracts) lasting at least 6 months or more

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be under the age of 55
  • IELTS overall 5.0 or PTE overall 36
  • Have a recognised qualification

Visa Processing Time:

  • Average 3 to 5 months

 

3. Work to Residence Visa

If your occupation is not listed in Tier 1, you can consider roles in Tier 2 of the Green List.

Employment Criteria:

  • Have worked in New Zealand for at least 24 months
  • Employment with an accredited employer
  • The position is permanent or fixed-term for at least 12 months

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be under the age of 55
  • IELTS overall score of 5.0 or PTE overall score of 36
  • Hold a recognised qualification

Visa Processing Time:

  • Average 6 months

4. PhD & Masters by Research Program

Dreaming of pursuing a PhD or Master’s by research program in New Zealand? 

Imagine working full-time while studying in one of the world’s most beautiful countries. Secure your visa within an average of 9 weeks and bring your partner along with a Partner of a Student Work Visa, allowing them to work full-time as well. 

After completing your studies, you can apply for a Post Study Work Visa, granting you up to 3 years in New Zealand depending on your level and duration of study. 

This opens doors to apply for a resident visa under the Skilled Migrant Category, Straight to Residence, and Work to Residence pathways. 

5. Entrepreneur Work Visa

Invest a minimum of NZ$100,000 and embark on your entrepreneurial journey in one of the most dynamic markets. If your business is in the science or ICT sectors and demonstrates high innovation or export potential, the NZ$100,000 capital investment requirement might be waived. 

After successfully operating your business for 3 years, you will be eligible to apply for the Entrepreneur Resident Visa, granting you permanent residence in New Zealand. 

You are then eligible for Citizenship after 5 years of residency.
