Dependant Pass

The Malaysia Dependent Pass is a type of visa that allows the dependents of expatriates working in Malaysia to live in the country. It is typically issued to the spouses and children of individuals holding valid Employment Passes, Professional Visit Passes, or Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) visas. The Dependent Pass allows these family members to reside in Malaysia legally during the duration of the primary visa holder's stay.

*Partial fixed deposit withdrawal of up to 50% on a reimbursement basis after MM2H approval is obtained for property purchase, medical expenses, and education in Malaysia.  Withdrawal is capped at MYR 50,000 for those aged above 50 and MYR 150,000 for those below 50.  

Minimum stay per year: 90 days for all family members if the main applicant is above 50.  If the main applicant is under 50, the total stay for the main applicant and family members is 90 days.  

Dependents Criteria:

i. spouse (wife/ husband);
ii. biological children/ stepchildren/ adopted children below the age of 21, while those between the ages of 21 to 34 must be unemployed and single, while in Malaysia;
iii. medically certified children with disabilities (no age limit);
iv. parents and/ or parents-in-law; and
v. foreign maid (Only for Platinum Category)

Education: Dependent children are allowed to pursue their education up to the tertiary level in any Government-recognised higher learning institution in Malaysia. Dependent/s (children) are allowed to use the existing MM2H or be given a Student Pass automatically. 

Medical: Long-term medical treatment is allowed in Malaysia.

Tax: Tax exemption on incoming funds such as Fixed Deposits and offshore income.

Change of Principal Applicant: MM2H Pass is transferable to the next-of-kin in the event of the passing of the main applicant.
