Canada Invites Overseas Skilled Migrants via Express Entry For The First Time Since December 2020

On 6th July 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited a total of 1,500 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score was 557.

I want to thank the candidates from around the world for their patience, as we worked to reduce the backlog before resuming Express Entry draws. I look forward to welcoming skilled workers who will are essential in addressing Canada’s labour shortages.” –  Canada’s Immigration Minister Sean Fraser

Candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) were also selected in today’s Express Entry draw. Since September 2021, CEC applicants haven’t been selected in an Express Entry draw until now. We believe this could be the reason for the high cut-off score. 

We are hopeful for IRCC to have a consistent draws for No-Program Specified every fortnight and possibilities of reducing the cut-off score when Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws are resumed.
