July 4, 2016
Invitation rounds are currently taking place twice a month with the next one due in July 2016. A total of 1530 places were available in June for Skilled Independent applicants (subclass 189) for each invitation round but only 5 places for Skilled Regional Provisional applicants who are sponsored by a relative (subclass 489).
Currently, Skilled Independent applicants will be invited with a score of 60 points but Skilled Regional Provisional applicants sponsored by a relative residing in a designated area of Australia will need a minimum of 65 points in order to receive an invitation.
Due to the continuing high numbers of EOI’s received for ICT Business and Systems Analysts, Software/Applications Programmers and Accountants, invitations for these occupations will be issued on a pro-rota basis in each monthly invitation round over the 2015/2016 programme year. Currently, Accountants will only be invited if they have 70 points and ICT Business and Systems Analysts (65 points).
Auditors, Company secretaries and Corporate Treasurers have now reached its ceiling and no further invitations will be issued during the 2015/2016 programme year.
